Recommended channel crossings from the UK

Eurotunnel

P & O Ferries and several others sail from Dover to Calais, Portsmouth to Le Havre etc.

Brittany Ferries sail from Portsmouth to Caen and St Malo, Plymouth to Roscoff, Poole to Cherbourg.

Our personal recommendation is the crossing to St Malo with only 4½ hours driving time from port to house.

There are plenty of other choices.

By Train

Eurostar trains depart from
London St Pancras International station for Paris.
Change at Paris or Lille for southbound TGV express trains to Angouleme or Bordeaux.

From here take a
regional train to Jonzac, our nearest station, 18 miles away.
