Originally a typical sleepy country village alongside the Glane river near Limoges. But on the 10th June 1944, a Nazi SS Division surrounded the village of Oradour-sur- Glane, massacred the inhabitants, and set the town on fire. The village was never rebuilt, and is now forever standing as a silent monument to Nazi atrocities. A very moving experience.
