There are many activities to enjoy in the area and here are just a few ideas:
 | Cycling
Bicyles for all ages are available for hire locally (www.bikehiredirect.com). However four adult bicycles are supplied for use of clients at La Maison Fleurie. Cycle down to Port Maubert or Mortagne, our local ports, and enjoy a cooling drink at the waterside restaurants. There are lots of tracks through the vine fields and miles of deserted country roads.
 | Walking
Plenty of marked walking tracks around the area, giving stunning views of the countryside and the Gironde estuary. We have a selection of large-scale walking maps for your use during your stay.
 | Golf At Royan (25mins), Saintes (30mins) and Cognac (1 hour) . Three excellent courses very different and challenging in their own way. All have excellent club house facilities, pro shops etc. It is advisable to book especially in summer. Cognac has wide open fairways, Royan tight tree lined and Saintes undulating with a mixture of relatively wide and very tight.
 | Fishing
Sea and river fishing is available. There are also public fishing lakes in the area.

| Tennis
There are Tennis courts for hire at the nearest village, St. Fort sur Gironde (1 mile away) and at Mortagne (10 mins).
 | Horse Riding
Available at the nearby stables in Mortagne

| Birdwatching
A perfect spot for birdwatchers from Hoopoes and Red kites to Storks and Swallows.
 | Swimming and Watersports An exotic new leisure pool complex is now open at Jonzac, (25 mins from Civrac). It is said to be unique in Europe. Called Les Antilles de Jonzac, this huge lagoon-shaped pool complete with sandy beaches, beach bar, exotic plants, waterfalls, various water features, spa pools and even a toboggan run is all under cover. There is a large outside beach and pool connected to the inside, enabling one to swim from inside to outside. Restaurants overlook the pool area. The complex is open all year round. There are good public pools at Cozes and Gemozac (both 20 mins) and of course all the beaches. Watersports are well represented at St. Georges de Didonne and Royan, both excellent spots for windsurfing.
